NORTHWEST AIRLINES ADDS NEW JET SERVICE TO DETROIT

Lexington, KY - Northwest Airlines has announced a major enhancement to its service from Lexington. Beginning April 2, 2001 the airline will add a fourth jet to its Detroit hub and adjust its flight schedule to maximize available connections to top domestic and international destinations.

The enhanced service will provide convenient connections to several hundred domestic destinations, enhanced service to Europe, and superior access to Northwest's Pacific hub network of Tokyo, Osaka and its new daily non-stop service from Detroit to Nagoya which begins on April 1, 2001. Overall, this enhancement represents a 29% increase in seats in the Lexington-Detroit market.

With the addition of the airline's new service to Memphis, Northwest provides eight daily round-trip flights from Lexington.
