STATE OF THE ART BAGGAGE SCREENING EQUIPMENT
INSTALLED AR AIRPORT'S SECURITY CHECKPOINT
Lexington, KY - State of the art security
checkpoint x-ray equipment has been installed at Lexington's
Blue Grass Airport. The installation of new equipment has
been a frequent request of our many business customers who
travel with laptop computers. Equipment in use prior to this
installation required travelers to remove computers and other
electronic devices from their luggage prior to screening at
the checkpoint. This procedure often resulted in delays at
checkpoint and has been viewed by many frequent travelers
as an inconvenience.
With the installation of new screening equipment
customers can approach checkpoint and send laptop computers
through the screening process without having to remove them
from luggage and carrying cases. This should greatly reduce
confusion and delays in and around the checkpoint area.
"Inconvenience at the checkpoint has been
one of our most frequent customer complaints. The installation
of this new equipment will provide a significant enhancement
to our customer's overall travel experience", said Michael
Gobb, Executive Director, Blue Grass Airport.
The operation of the security checkpoints at
airports across the nation is the responsibility of the airlines
serving each airport. In Lexington, Delta Air Lines, in partnership
with the airport, has made this enhancement possible.
