BLUE GRASS AIRPORT NOW OFFERS NON-STOP SERVICE TO MINNEAPOLIS

March 21, 2008 – Blue Grass Airport is pleased to announce Northwest Airlines will offer new non-stop, seasonal jet service between its hub at Minneapolis/St. Paul and Lexington, Kentucky. One daily flight will be offered from June 5, 2008 to August 18, 2008.

“Northwest Airlines is excited to give our customers in Lexington the opportunity to choose from all Northwest hubs, adding Minneapolis/St. Paul to our Memphis and Detroit service,” said Dennis Newman, vice president of network planning and scheduling. “This new route allows us to offer our Lexington customers convenient access to all destinations that Northwest flies, just in time for the summer vacation season.”

The new service will be operated by Northwest Airlink partner Pinnacle Airlines using the Canadair Regional Jet, which seats up to 50 passengers.

“Blue Grass Airport welcomes Northwest Airlines’ decision to add a new non-stop jet flight from Lexington to a third hub,” said Michael Gobb, executive director at Blue Grass Airport. “Northwest has been a generous partner in our efforts to connect central Kentucky to the world, and we look forward to expanding that partnership through this new service to Minneapolis.”
