BLUE GRASS AIRPORT’S DIRECTOR OF ADMINISTRATION & FINANCE EARNS PROFESSIONAL AIRPORT ACCREDITATION
March 24, 2008 Blue Grass Airport’s Director of Administration & Finance, John Rhodes, A.A. E., has been awarded the distinction of Accredited Airport Executive (A.A.E.) by the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE). AAAE is the world’s largest professional organization representing over 850 airports and hundreds of companies and organizations that support the airport industry.
Mr. Rhodes joins an elite group of airport executives who have completed all requirements since the program began in 1954. Fewer than 10 percent of AAAE’s members throughout the country have earned this distinction.
“We congratulate John Rhodes on this fantastic achievement,” said Michael Gobb, executive director of Blue Grass Airport. “Blue Grass Airport is extremely fortunate to have a director with such a strong knowledge of airport management and business administration.”
John Rhodes has been employed with Blue Grass Airport since 1987. Heis responsible forthe airport’s financing, accounting, budgeting,purchasing, human resource management, concessions and lease handling, ground transportation and administration.
“Mr. Rhodes’s accreditation puts him in a very select group of airport professionals worldwide,” said Bernie Lovely, Chairman of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Airport Board. “Our airport now has three directors who have successfully earned their accreditation through this demanding program.”
John Rhodes is also an active member in the American Association of Airport Executives, Airports Council International and the Society for Human Resource Managers.
