BLUE GRASS AIRPORT CHIEF OF PUBLIC SAFETY RECEIVES PRESTIGIOUS FBI NATIONAL ACADEMY TRAINING

March 27, 2007 – Blue Grass Airport is pleased to announce its Chief of Public Safety, Scott Lanter, is a recent graduate of the FBI National Academy at Quantico, Virginia. The FBI National Academy is a professional course of study for U.S. and international law enforcement leaders. Participation is by invitation only, through a nomination process.

Internationally known for its academic excellence, the National Academy Program, held at the FBI Academy, offers 10 weeks of advanced investigative, management and fitness training for selected officers having proven records as professionals within their agencies. The program consisted of men and women from 48 states, the District of Columbia, 23 international countries, four military organizations and five Federal civilian organizations.

The FBI National Academy serves to improve the administration of justice in police departments and agencies at home and abroad and to raise law enforcement standards, knowledge and cooperation worldwide.

“We are so pleased Chief Lanter was selected to participate in such a prestigious and internationally-acclaimed program,” said Michael Gobb, executive director at Blue Grass Airport. “The professional development gained from this experience will be a tremendous benefit to the airport and its entire public safety department. Training for the program is provided by the FBI Academy instructional staff, Special Agents and other staff members holding advanced degrees, many of who are recognized internationally in their fields of expertise. Courses focus on behavioral science, law, forensic science, leadership development, communication and health/fitness.
