SWINE FLU TRAVEL INFORMATION

April 29, 2009 Blue Grass Airport continues to monitor the outbreak of the swine influenza and is taking precautionary measures to prevent the spread of illness. Hand sanitizing stations are currently being installed prominently throughout the airport terminal and in restroom facilities, and airport staff is placing an increased emphasis on the cleaning of public areas based on recognized procedures that have been proven effective in preventing the spread of the virus.

Passengers are encouraged to practice common techniques to prevent the spread of any illness, including:

  • Covering your mouth when coughing or sneezing
  • Avoiding touching your mouth, hands and eyes
  • Washing your hands frequently
  • Avoiding close contact with others who are ill

Blue Grass Airport’s Public Safety Department is currently communicating with our local, state and national partners in an effort to increase our preparedness, disseminate pertinent information, and ultimately provide assistance to our community as needed.

If you are traveling to or from Mexico, many airlines are allowing passengers to reschedule their flights without an extra fee or penalty. Please contact your airline for details.
