AIRPORT BOARD WELCOMES JOHN DAVIS AS NEW BOARD MEMBER

Lexington, KY — The Lexington-Fayette Urban County Airport Board welcomes new member John M. Davis. Davis begins serving a four-year term in July 2006. For 32 years, John Davis held full-time employment as an airline pilot and captain with U.S. Airways. His experience includes flying various domestic commercial aircraft, including the FH-227, BAC 1-11, Boeing 737, Boeing 757 and Boeing 767. From June 1986 through June 1993, he served as editor of the US Airways pilot magazine.

Davis is now retired and enjoys spending time with his wife, son and two grandchildren. In addition, he serves as an airplane flight simulator instructor for pilots taking their annual or biennial flight reviews. John Davis replaced Dr. Raymond Garman, who recently completed two consecutive four-year terms of service to the Airport Board.

The Lexington-Fayette Urban County Airport Board is the governing body for Lexington’s Blue Grass Airport. Its 10 volunteer members are appointed by the Mayor of Lexington and approved by the Urban County Council.
