AIRPORT BOARD WELCOMES JOHN DAVIS AS NEW
BOARD MEMBER
Lexington, KY The Lexington-Fayette Urban County Airport
Board welcomes new member John M. Davis. Davis begins serving
a four-year term in July 2006. For 32 years, John Davis held
full-time employment as an airline pilot and captain with
U.S. Airways. His experience includes flying various domestic
commercial aircraft, including the FH-227, BAC 1-11, Boeing
737, Boeing 757 and Boeing 767. From June 1986 through June
1993, he served as editor of the US Airways pilot magazine.
Davis is now retired and enjoys spending time with his wife,
son and two grandchildren. In addition, he serves as an airplane
flight simulator instructor for pilots taking their annual
or biennial flight reviews. John Davis replaced Dr. Raymond
Garman, who recently completed two consecutive four-year terms
of service to the Airport Board.
The Lexington-Fayette Urban County Airport Board is the governing
body for Lexingtons Blue Grass Airport. Its 10 volunteer
members are appointed by the Mayor of Lexington and approved
by the Urban County Council.
