Blue Grass Airport to Conduct Public Workshop
to Discuss Master Plan Update
Lexington, KY - An Information Workshop
has been scheduled to gain input from the public on a Master
Plan Update that is currently underway for Blue Grass Airport.
The workshop will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2003,
from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Paul Laurence Dunbar High
School, located at 1600 Man-O-War Boulevard, Lexington,
Kentucky 40513.
The purpose of the Master Plan Update is to
provide the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Airport Board with
a comprehensive overview of the Airports needs over
the next twenty-year period of time. This initial Public Information
Workshop will review key elements of the planning process,
which have been previously discussed with a Citizen Advisory
Committee, including an overview of the forecast of future
activity, the airports capacity, and alternatives for
development. As the study progresses, a second Public Information
Workshop will be held in October or November.
Although the Public Information Workshop will
be held in an informal open house format, a public presentation
will be provided at the beginning of the meeting from 5:30
p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Following this presentation, graphics will
be on display so citizens can review presentation details.
Representatives from the Airport and the Study Team will be
available to talk individually with citizens about the initial
planning process findings.
Opportunities will be available at the Public
Information Workshop for individuals to submit comments either
orally or in writing. Written comments will also be accepted
following the Public Information Workshop until August 15,
2003. These written comments may be directed to: Melanie DePoy
, Aerofinity, Inc., 51 South New Jersey Street, Indianapolis,
Indiana 46204.
