NORTHWEST AIRLINES INCREASES SERVICE BETWEEN
LEXINGTON AND DETROIT
Lexington, KY Northwest Airlines
and its Northwest Airlink affiliate, Mesaba Airlines, has
announced increased non-stop service between Lexington and
its Detroit hub from five to six daily flights, beginning
September 1, 2001.
Our customers have asked for more flights
and more choice of service from Blue Grass Airport,
said Michael Gobb, Executive Director of Blue Grass Airport.
Since November 2000, the airline has more than doubled
its service from Lexington and it continues to receive praise
from our many business customers.
The new service will be operated using the Saab
340 regional turbo-prop aircraft equipped with 33 passenger
seats, overhead bins and newly refurbished leather seats.
The Saab 340 is the most widely used regional aircraft in
the United States. Its speed, comfort and jet-like passenger
cabins make it a favorite for small and mid-level markets.
Northwest Airlines currently offers six daily
departures Detroit, MI and three daily departures to Memphis,
TN from Lexingtons Blue Grass Airport.
