THE AVIATION MUSEUM OF KENTUCKY TO HOST VINTAGE
AIRCRAFT TOUR
Lexington, KY Take a glimpse at
history and experience for yourself the wonder of flying in
a magnificent World War II bomber.
On August 9-11, the Aviation Museum of Kentucky,
located at Blue Grass Airport in Lexington will host the Collings
Foundation's "Wings of Freedom Tour" of vintage
aircraft featuring the only fully restored B-24 Liberator
and one of the few remaining B17 bombers in existence.
In addition, on August 9,10 and 12, former University
of Kentucky basketball player Rob Lock will offer rides in
his vintage New Standard bi-plane, a barnstormer from the
glory days of aviation. Enjoy these classic pieces of Americana
on the ground, or be one of the lucky few to experience yesteryear
and take a ride in the wide blue yonder.
