BLUE GRASS AIRPORT WELCOMES NEW LEXTRAN SERVICE

Lexington, KY — Beginning Monday, August 21, 2006, the Transit Authority of Lexington (LexTran) will offer an express route from Blue Grass Airport to the downtown Transit Center on Vine Street. The route will serve Versailles Road and areas west of Alexandria with a boundary of Man-O-War and areas south of Man-O-War to Beaumont Center.

"LexTran's service will provide travelers, employees and members of the local community with an invaluable mode of transportation to and from the airport," said Michael Gobb, executive director at Blue Grass Airport. "We are pleased to partner with LexTran and look forward to the benefits this convenient service will bring to our customers and the community."

This new shuttle will be offered Monday through Friday from 6 am to 6 pm. A designated pick-up location can be found curbside at Blue Grass Airport. LexTran fares for the service are $1/adult, $.80/youth and $.50/seniors and individuals with disabilities. LexTran passes will be honored on this route and transfers are free.
