BLUE GRASS AIRPORT DESIGNATES TEMPORARY MEMORIAL FOR FLIGHT 5191

Lexington, Ky. – Blue Grass Airport has designated an area near the scenic wall mural to serve as a Flight 5191 Memorial in response to the community’s overwhelming outpouring of support and sympathy for the families and friends of the victims of Flight 5191.

"This has touched our entire community deeply–nowhere is this more evident than in the expressions of generosity that we’ve seen here at the airport," said Michael Gobb, executive director at Blue Grass Airport. "The compassion and kind acts of our friends, family members and the community during this difficult time have been extraordinary."

Beginning this afternoon, those who wish to leave a remembrance to honor the passengers and crew of Flight 5191 should do so in a specially designated area at Blue Grass Airport. The area is accessible through the Cell Phone Waiting Lot. From the airport throughfare, the Cell Phone Waiting Lot is the first right turn. There is no charge to enter this lot.

Everyone is encouraged to use this memorial area instead of leaving flowers, wreaths, notes and other items along Man-O-War Boulevard or Versailles Road.
