BLUE GRASS AIRPORT TO CONDUCT CEREMONY TO
COMMEMORATE PATRIOT DAY, SEPTEMBER 11th
Lexington, KY On September 4, 2002 President
George W. Bush proclaimed September 11, 2002 as Patriot Day.
To commemorate this day and to honor those who perished in
the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 Blue Grass Airport
will conduct a ceremony to include the following observance:
8:30 a.m. - Patriotic music performed by talented airport
employees and "Steppin' High" a vocal quartet.
8:40 a.m. - Comments by Airport Officials on Patriot Day
8:45 a.m. - The flags in front of the airport will be lowered
to half staff by the airport's Department of Public Safety.
8:46 a.m. - The airport will observe a moment of silence during
which time the airport will be closed to all aircraft operations.
8:47 a.m. - Vocalists Continue until 9:00 a.m.
Airport patrons, employees and citizens are
welcome to attend this first observance of
Patriot Day at Blue Grass Airport.
