BLUE GRASS AIRPORT CHAIRMAN NAMED KENTUCKY BOARD MEMBER OF THE YEAR

September 20, 2007 – Lexington-Fayette Urban County Airport Board’s Chairman, Bernie Lovely, Jr., has been awarded the prestigious Kentucky Board Member of the Year Award by the Kentucky Department of Aviation. Mr. Lovely was recognized for this achievement at the recent Kentucky Aviation Association Annual Conference held in Somerset, Kentucky on Friday, September 14, 2007.

“Bernie Lovely’s leadership is an inspiration to so many of us at the airport and in the community,” said Michael Gobb, executive director at Blue Grass Airport. “He has put tremendous effort and time into his position as Chairman. His talents have been instrumental in the success of Blue Grass Airport.”

Bernie Lovely has served as an active member of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Airport Board from July 1999 to present. During his tenure, he has served as Chairman of the Board for two consecutive terms and sits on a variety of committees. Mr. Lovely is a Partner with Bowles Rice McDavid Graff & Love, LLP and is a member of the American Bar Association, Kentucky State Bar Association and Fayette County Bar Association. Highlights in his professional career include serving as a Member of the Commerce Lexington Board of Directors, former professor of equine law and legal writing at University of Kentucky and owner of Azur, one of Lexington’s finest restaurants.

“We certainly feel privileged to have Mr. Lovely as our Chairman and are pleased he has been recognized for his dedication to the airport and the aviation community,” added Gobb.
