Main Entrance and Terminal Building Improvements
Terminal Interior Renovation
Step into the first level of the terminal and experience an entire new look! The terminal lobby, ticket counters, baggage claim and restroom facilities will be renovated to reflect the new décor found in the concourses. Customers will enjoy new flooring and wall finishes, energy efficient lighting fixtures, modernized restrooms and better accessibility at airline ticket counters.
Main Entrance Enhancement
Designed to resemble the Bluegrass region’s impressive horse farm entrances, the airport will soon have a more recognizable entrance at Man O’ War Boulevard. The new entrance will not only clarify traffic patterns and improve safety, it will also serve as a visually attractive first and last impression for visitors. It will reflect the character and historical significance of the region and will include brick masonry walls, limestone caps, dry-stacked stone walls, signature lighting fixtures and lush landscaping.
Terminal Curbside Improvements
Blue Grass Airport’s terminal will undergo a curbside facelift when approximately 6,000 square feet of exterior column wraps and 28,000 square feet of curbside canopy will be removed and replaced. Curbside signage will be updated to enhance passenger way-finding and passenger safety will be improved by concentrating walking traffic to central crosswalk locations.
