July 17, 2023—The Lexington-Fayette Urban County Airport Board is pleased to announce it has appointed Daniel Mason as Chair of the Board, beginning July 1, 2023. Daniel Mason joined the Airport Board in 2018 and has served as Vice Chair and Treasurer of the Board as well as the Chair of the Finance, Administration and Operations Committee. He will succeed the Airport Board’s outgoing Chair, Garyen Denning.
Mason, President of Traditional Bank, has a 30-year background in finance. He oversees the bank’s Lexington-based business development team and the commercial cash management department. In addition, he provides senior leadership for the branch banking experience and oversees the continuous growth of the bank and its communities. He also serves on the Child Care Council of Kentucky and previously served as the Treasurer for Community Action Council, Urban League of Lexington-Fayette County and Life Adventure Camp.
In addition to the Airport Board appointment of Daniel Mason as President, Brian Wells has been appointed Vice Chair and Secretary, and Shirie Hawkins has been appointed Treasurer. Other members include Clay Angelucci, Ronnie Bastin, Garyen Denning, Tonya Jackson, Marc Mathews, Don Mosier and Dave Sevigny.
The Lexington-Fayette Urban County Airport Board is the governing body for Lexington’s Blue Grass Airport. The Airport Board’s 10 volunteer members are appointed by the Mayor of Lexington and confirmed by the Urban County Council.
